About the role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Bid Writer to lead and support our tendering efforts for UK public sector frameworks. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of public procurement processes, particularly within the context of language services, and will be responsible for crafting compelling, compliant, and winning bids. Experience handling private sector, commercial RFPs is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

Bid Strategy & Planning

  • Support sales teams with relevant public sector opportunities (e.g. NHS, Crown Commercial Service, local authorities) as well as commercial RFPs.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to assess bid viability and develop bid strategies.

 

Bid Writing & Submission

  • Write high-quality, persuasive content tailored to each tender’s requirements.
  • Ensure bids are fully compliant with procurement regulations and framework specifications.
  • Manage the end-to-end bid process, including coordination of supporting documents and timely submission.

 

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Liaise with subject matter experts, project managers, and operational teams to gather input and evidence.
  • Maintain clear communication with external partners when joint bidding is required.

 

Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain a library of reusable content, case studies, and credentials.
  • Ensure all submissions meet legal, ethical, and data protection standards.

 

Post-Bid Activities

  • Support debriefs and feedback analysis to improve future bids.
  • Track bid outcomes and maintain records for reporting and learning.

Requirements

Experience: >1 year of experience in bid writing, proposal development, or tender management — ideally within the language services, professional services, or public sector procurement environment.

 

Level of Education: Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Business Administration, Public Relations, or a related field.

 

Language: English [Mandatory]

 

Requirements:

  • Proven track record in bid writing for public sector tenders, ideally within the LSP or professional services sector.
  • Familiarity with UK procurement portals (e.g. Contracts Finder, Find a Tender).

 

Skills:

  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Strong project management and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to interpret complex tender documents and translate them into clear, compelling responses.
  • Understanding of UK public procurement regulations and framework agreements.
  • Awareness of language services industry standards and terminology.

 

IT Skills:

  • Microsoft Suite
