About the role

Your main purpose as interpreter is to enable effective and clear communication between parties who would otherwise face language barriers.

Key Responsibilities

Your main tasks and includes but are not limited to:

  • Conducting telephone and video interpreting assignments.
  • Providing on-site interpreting services.
  • Building terminology lists.
  • Participating in peer meetings with fellow interpreters.
  • Keeping up with professional literature and developments in political, socio-economic, and linguistic areas.

Requirements

Educational Background

  • HBO (higher professional education) level of thinking.
  • Good command of the Dutch language, both spoken and written.
  • Ability to handle stress and perform under pressure.
  • A professional appearance and a pleasant, professional phone manner.
  • Capable of working both independently and as part of a team.

Professional Experience

  • Professional experience as Interpreter is a pre but not mandatory/ or proven real-time interpreting skills (optional: at C1 level) across various settings, including telephone, video-based, and on-location interpreting.
